The right decision

The other day Brianna brought up the subject of school and was talking about some of her friends that are in school. She asked when she would be starting Kindergarten and I told her she would start in a few days. She then started to get really teary and with her little voice quivering asked me, "Are you going to go with me and stay with me all day?" I quickly reassured her that she wasn't going to the public school, we were going to learn to read here at home. She immediately brightened up and went on to the next subject, i.e loose tooth, playing a game on the computer, whatever. It got me thinking though, so many times we as Mothers second-guess ourselves about our decisions for our children, afraid of what others are going to think or say. I am so glad that I listened to that third sense we mothers have and decided to homeschool her this year. She just simply isn't ready to face the big, bad world by herself just yet. And thats ok with me, she doesn't know just how very much I would miss her. For once, I made the right decision, and I'm so glad I did.

I think you made the right decision, too. This is our 3rd year, and I wouldn't trade it now.

Homeschooling is great!! It is so nice that it is more accepted now.
