Scrapbooking, finally!

After being so far behind on my children's scrapbook albums, I'm finally getting caught up, well sorta, I don't know if anyone is ever really completely caught up, are they? :) This is probably my favorite hobby, although I don't get to do it as often as I would like! I'm not a real complicated scrapper, I pretty much just stick to the simple techniques, I like a really clean layout without to much clutter. These are just a couple pages I did recently of Brianna and Tyler, I was very happy with how they turned out.

My crazy new Job!

Am I crazy or what? Several weeks ago a friend asked me to watch her dogs while she was going to be away, and since I try to be a good friend, I readily agreed. Little did I know that I would be getting myself in WAY over my head. Soooo, for the past week I have been taking care of a Bull-Mastiff and her 12 puppies, yes you read right, thats 12!!! Since the mother doesn't have all the 'equipment' necessary to feed all 12 at the same time, the puppies have to be fed 6 at a time, it takes about 30 min. to get them all fed and crates changed. This process happens every three hours, arghhh! Not that I'm comparing children to dogs at all, but I feel like I have a little better understanding of what mother's of large families go through! Needless to say, I'm looking forward to Monday morning when the owner comes to pick up all her dogs!

Playroom Painting

Before .....After.....

I know, I know, it's very bright! Actually, it's a lot brighter than I thought it would be. The color is called 'Green Apple', but I think it should be more like neon Green! I can't imagine what neon would actually look like, I think the kids would need sunglasses to play in there! I'm so relieved that its done and all the toys are put back in their rightful places, it really was a mess there for a while. I knew I'd better take a picture when I finished cleaning and putting the toys away, because it won't stay that neat for very long!

County Fair Week

This week was the fair in our little town, which is a BIG deal and part of the reason for my blogging absence. Someday I plan on doing a post about the little town that we live in, partly because it's hard for many people to imagine what it's like. There are only 640 people here so it makes for a very quaint fair, to say the least! There are only about 10 rides, half of which are just for children. It's great for just spending some family time and letting the kids have fun! Of course, we don't want to forget the great funnel cakes and onion blossoms, part of the reason the fair gets our business! Tonight is the last night, the demolition derby. I think I'll take Tyler and head to Wam-Mart while Tim and Brianna go to that, it's so loud and I'm afraid the noise will bother Tyler, not to mention the dust and fumes. Behind Tyler is the Super Slide, that got Brianna's attention!
One of the many rides that Brianna loved

The calf-roping event - I love the competion in it

Flowers?!

Just wanted to share what my sweet little girl picked for me this morning! Never mind that they are dandelion flowers/weeds, she thought they were beautiful and so do I! :)

Our little Man

I can't believe how fast time has gone. It seems like just yesterday Tyler was born and yet here he is, 8 months old already! I can get pretty sentimental at times, I'll try not to get too tearful today! Tyler is a really good baby, though he does have his moments of mischievousness sometimes! He loves Brianna so much and love to play with her, providing she is in a sharing mood that day. That's something that we're still working on! He is discovering table food and has decided that if he sees you eating, he must have a taste. Now if he could just figure out how to sleep all night, we'd be all set!

Little Cornhusker

It's finally here, the moment that our family has been waiting for all spring, SWEET CORN! :) We love it so much, many times basically making a meal out of it. This year Brianna has decided that she likes to help husk it, despite making a huge mess, its nice to have a little helper in the kitchen! Here's to a lot more sweet corn being comsumed this summer!

Our Saturday

Tim spent the better part of today working on the truck replacing some parts and trying to get it ready for a test drive. It is so hot out here, almost 100 degrees, but he really wants to get it running before Dad gets here so that he can help him with a few other things. We would like to drive the truck in our town's parade in a couple months but it needs some more work before we take it for too long of a drive. It's overheating right now, hopefully Tim can figure out the problem.

Is that another one of me?

Tyler just discovered his reflection in the stove door the other day, he was quite fascinated and did his usual "head tipping" back and forth trying to figure it all out!

Parade Photos!

Happy 4th of July!

OK, here goes, my very first post! I'm totally new at all this, and not at all sure what I'm doing, so please bear with me while I get this figured out! Since I love everything about the forth of July,(e.g. fireworks, cookouts, extra time with family and friends, and just the general patriotic feel about it) I though it would be fitting that my first post be about my family and our July 4th. Last night we had a neighborhood BBQ with fireworks afterward that Tim and his friends had bought. Tim really gets into fireworks and I think they outdid themselves this year, it took about an hour and a half to set them all off! Brianna and Tyler did really well, Brianna isn't nearly as scared of them as she was last year, though she is very sensitive to loud noises and always plugs her ears. This morning we went to a neighboring towns parade, there isn't really anything too great but the floats and care always throw out a lot of candy, so we went prepared! Brianna of course had fun scooping up all the candy off the ground and clamoring to get to it before the other kids did. We're planning on going to see yet more fireworks tonight, I think we'll have had our fill of fireworks after that!
