She had her first looth tooth . .

I can't believe that my baby girl is getting big enough to be losing teeth! A week ago she started complaining a little bit about eating certain foods and brushing her teeth, that's when we discovered that both front teeth are loose! She was more than a little traumatized at the thought of loosing her teeth until she realized that new ones would grow in their place. I just snapped these photos this morning, wondering when in the world that tooth would come out and hoping that I wouldn't have to pull it.
Later this morning she came to me with the tooth in her hand saying that it just fell out into her mouth! Was I ever relieved! She spent quite a bit of time checking out her new appearance in the mirror!

Anybody out there know?

As Brianna would say, "Mommy, I only have 1 question. My question is, . . . . I don't remember!"

Well, I do actually need some input from everybody out there. I'm wondering what the age requirement for a booster car seat is. Since Brianna just turned 5 I'm not sure if she really needs to be in the booster any more or not. I'm all for following the safety requirements, I've always been a little strict about stuff like this. But this one has me stumped, please give this Mom some advice! :)

Edited to add: Thanks everyone for your advice! I've been letting her ride without the booster seat just around our town but just today when we shopping out of town realized that she does still need the booster. She's just not tall enough for the seat belt to be in the right position without it. Again, thanks! :)

A Good thing - Part II

Two freshly bathed kids. 'Reading' books before bedtime.
Quietly and nicely, not fussing with each other. Oh, yeah, it's a very good thing!

Brianna's birthday party

Brianna had a great birthday, it sorta got stretched out over 3 days, something she really enjoyed! Friday evening after the VBS program she opened her gifts, Saturday after our yard sale we went out to eat to celebrate her birthday, and on Sunday we had friends over for cake and ice cream. So naturally on Monday she woke up and asked if it was still her birthday! She is still super excited about being 5, she tells everyone that she sees, even in line at the grocery store! She'll get to stretch out the fun even more because she has some birthday money to spend, I think we're going shopping this weekend and she has had her eye on a new princess game, it's all about being a princess these days.

A good thing . . .

Martha Stewart has this series that she calls "A Good Thing." Every now and then she seems to have the authority to declare something that she loves, 'a good thing', just because she can. I thought I would borrow her idea and start my own little series, right here on my own, little, bitty blog. Of course she has nowhere the audience or readers that I have, poor woman.

Part I: Finding awesome scrapbook supplies on clearance, (1/4 of their original price) at Hobby Lobby - it's a good thing! :)

A really cool gift

Remember those huge trees that were cut down out of our yard several months ago? Our neighbor, (I'm using that term rather loosely here, he's not our next-door neighbor or anything. He lives in town, but in a town of 650 people we pretty much consider everyone our neighbor!) Anyway, one of his hobbies is woodworking, and does he ever do a great job! Here are the bowls that he brought me the other day, made from those trees that he cut down! Tim told him that my birthday wasn't until August but he wanted to bring them to me early, such a neat gift!
