The Kids' Domain

I thought I'd post some photos of the kids rooms and playroom. The house is mostly decorated now, just a few odds and ends here and there that need done. I'm sure I'll be adding things every now and then for a while, I like decorating slowly.

Tyler's Room
Brianna's Room - the girl LOVES the color purple!

The Playroom- I painted the 'Sun' in the corner using a styrofoam ball and just free-handing the rays. I'm certainly not an artist of any kind but I had fun with it and one of these days (when I'm just sitting around the house with absolutely nothing to do!) I might try painting a tree and maybe stenciling some flowers .

Out with the old - In with the new!

Into the garbage can went this little microwave. It sat on my kitchen counter and took up space, it's low wattage was just too much for me, (aren't microwaves supposed to be fast? I think I could have heated the food up on the stove faster than that thing!) and lastly, it was just time to upgrade! This little microwave was Tim's from back in his bachelor days, enough said!

I LOVE my new microwave. It's so nice to get it off my counter-top, it has so much more room inside, and it matches my stove really great! I'm a happy girl! :)

A Little Advice:

I thought this was just too cute, and sometimes altogether too true! :)

Menu-Plan-Monday

Although I stray (sometimes) from this Menu plan, it's so nice to have everything all planned out for the week, it causes me much less headache and stress to know what I need to prepare that day.
Monday: A little bit of this and that, in other words, Leftovers from Sunday Dinner!

Tues: Meatloaf, baked potatoes, coleslaw, grn. beans

Wed: Beef fried Rice

Thurs: Parmesan Pork chops, Confetti Mashed Potatoes

Fri: Sloppy Joes, Macaroni Salad, Dessert: Chocolate Chip Cookie Delight

Sat: Out to eat

Small town = Big news

Tim and the kids made the front page of the Newspaper this week. He and the newspaper owner are good friends and when Tim e-mailed him this photo, well, he thought that is was news-worthy!

Brianna was so interested in the turkey, you would've thought that her Dad brought home a kitten or something. She just ooed and ahhad over the 'beautiful feathers'. She's been wanting to go hunting with Tim for a while now so it looks like I'll be on the hunt for some camo for her. She is her Father's daughter, for sure! :)

*Thanks to all my well-wishers, I'm feeling much better now! Not sure if it was a migraine or not, hoping to never find out again!

Rough Day . . .

Laying on the couch . . . dealing with a splitting headache . . . taking Tylenol like candy . . .feeling like my head is in a fog . . . 6pm can't come soon enough, that's when Dad will be in charge and Mom can go to bed!

(Hoping this explains my blogging absence!)

I've been tagged!

What I was doing 10 years ago:
*I was getting ready to graduate from high school and preparing for college.

5 things on my To-Do List today:
*Vacuum and mop downstairs
* Change and wash kid's bedding
* Organize office :(
* Walk 3 miles on my arch enemy, the treadmill
*Do I HAVE to list 5 things? With 2 small children I don't set my goals to high!

Snacks I enjoy: I'd love to say a glass of water and an apple are all that I ever snack on, but that wouldn't be very truthful!
*Sour Cream n' Onion Ritz Chips
*Chips and Salsa
*Cheetos
*I do love fruit, you'll just notice that it wasn't at the top of my list!

Things I'd do if I was a Billionaire:
* I think the first thing I would do is take our family on an extended vacation, then come home and pay off everyone's debt.
*Secure my children's financial future, college and all.
*Set up mine and Tim's parents retirement future so that work would no longer be necessary, only something they would do for fun! :)
* Buy a vacation home in Italy, buy my Mom a scrapbook store, order all the parts that Dad needs in order to restore all his Antique cars. I could be here all day listing these types of things!
*Last, but certainly not least, give big to Missions. Especially orphanages around the world, those needs always get to me.

Bad Habits I have: Ugh, once again, too many to list!:)
*Not keeping in touch with extended family enough, really working on this one!
*Leaving that last load of laundry in the dryer a little too long!

5 Places that I've lived: I'm really gonna have to pare this list down, seeing as I was an MK!
*Hobe Sound, FL
*Turks and Cacious Islands
*Dominican Republic
*North Carolina
*Texas, Mexico, Nebraska ( I know, I went over my limit, but some of those I just couldn't leave out!)

Jobs I've held:
*Subway Sandwich Maker( my 1st job!)
*Daycare (this was a very short-lived job as all those kids gave me severe headaches!)
* Grocery store/ Deli
*STNA - Nursing Home/Assisted Living
*Medical Assistant- Family Practice

I'm tagging:
*Calista
*Nancy B.
*Shari S.

Burnin' and Cuttin'

We've been doing some outdoor improvements lately. I am using the word 'we' very loosely here, as you can see I'm not in any of the pictures actually cutting down trees or tending to the massive fire, nope, I was simply behind the camera lens capturing the moments! I believe this is the best place for me, I'm not crazy about fires and the trees, well, they only required 2 people to cut them down. So, I just wasn't needed! :)
See those giant pieces of the tree trunk? The man that helped Tim cut the 3 trees down took all the wood home, except for one of those pieces. I'll tell you my plans for that one later.Tyler was pretty facinated with the whole process. These kids(all 3 of them!) love this 4-wheeler!
Just a view from our back door, I thought it was so pretty. Even though we live in town you would never know it, we have 5 acres of country right behind us. See those pine trees to the right? There are some closer to the house that Tim is going to move that Giant chunk of Lumber to. I thought it would make a neat place for pictures.

Menu-Plan-Monday

Ahhhh, yes, another Monday.(Even though the post says it's Sunday!) Actually it's only been Monday for 19 minutes here in Nebraska. I'm just now getting around going to bed. I figured, do I blog now or wait until later? The blogging won out obviously, it was now or wait until who knows when. Monday mornings are always kind of scattered in this house. Even after trying to keep the house together on Sunday it always seems like Monday is the day to catch up from the weekend. The first thing on the to-do list will be to clean the kitchen in the morning. After making carrot cake and (awesome) Onion Straws, lets just say it needs a little TLC! :)

On to the menu, there may a couple repeats from last week, invariably something changes at the last minute and PB&J's get served!

Monday: More than likely it will be Sun. dinner's leftovers
Tuesday: Spaghetti, garlic bread, salad
Wednesday: Swiss Steak, Baked potatoes, Broccoli Salad
Thursday: Bacon-wrapped chicken, Macaroni and Cheese, Pea Salad
Friday: Stromboli
Saturday: Out to eat

This little boy

sure loves his bath! All we have to do is say the word "Bath" and he is treking to the bathroom at full speed! His favorite part of it is the play-time, he doesn't even seem to mind when he gets a face full of water, he just sputters a little bit, shakes his head, and goes on! Lately he has been 'showing' his displeasure when the bath has ended, just another day in the life of parents! :)
