Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather
to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, latte in the other, body
thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, what a ride!"

I've seen this saying before and I love it!!
This made me think of Phyllis Johnson in Mitchell. :-)
Martha, you're right, it does sound exactly like something she would say!
The reverse was noted by the old person that indeed lived to a ripe old age and said, "If I would have known I was going to live so long I would have taken better care of myself!" Somewhere between the two thoughts is the truth.
